Mexico City is famous for its food markets, and public squares, full of diverse handicrafts. The Mercado de los Sabados en San Angel, a Saturday market that features a wide range of clothes, jorongos (a traditional coat), jewelry, handcrafted paper, textiles, and traditional sweets is one of the most famous market of the city. The items present there come from various parts of the country. Really a nice place to have a glimpse of the cultures of the other cities under one roof.

The Plaza de La Ciudadela is a famous plaza, that you should visit while you are in Mexico. This plaza is overflowing with trinkets and local handicrafts. Here you'll find jewelry to pottery and large Mexican sombreros at extremely low prices. The La Ciudadela is an another marketplace that offers cheap souvenirs, traditional handicrafts, various flea market items, and traditional toys. The Santa Fe and Perisur are some of most popular malls in Mexico. Santa Fe is also said to be the largest in Latin America.

Cayoacan is a great place to be in, whose vibrant atmosphere makes it a must-see place in Mexico. This offers an amazing feeling in shopping for clothes and jewelry. Its streets features street dance, and  mimes. There are also great local food stalls; flowers or balloons shop. Visitors are also entertained by artists at work on portraits, cartoons, and street scenes.

Mexico celebrates various Catholic feasts, such as the Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe, where the Virgin of Guadalupe was reportedly sighted in 1531. Polanco is an upscale neighborhood that you should not miss out. The place is full of department stores, boutiques, malls, hotels, and fancy restaurants.
