Most parents believe that teenagers should focus all their attention towards their studies instead of getting a job. Usually, teenagers are allowed to work only after their 18th birthday. Good grades and enjoying the teenage years are considered to be the primary reason behind such belief. Ironically, there are few parents who feel that by following certain rules, can turn teenager into a better student as well as productive worker. In my opinion, every teenagers should get a job.
Becoming responsible in ones life is one of the important factor that a job helps to develop. I remember when I was a teenager, my parents wouldn't consider buying a new bike for me or increase my allowance. I was strictly told to earn the required amount to buy the bike. Finally, I went and joined a fast food restaurant and enjoyed myself thoroughly while working. Not only was I able to buy new things for myself but also made new friends. I also remember helped me stay out of trouble.
Since then, I believe that every teenagers should pay for his/her expenses. Whether you want to buy a new vehicle or want to spend extra money; a job can really help. A job also develop self confidence and maturity among teenagers. Today, you'll come across many teenagers that are excessively spoiled and by getting a job, they will learn to appreciate what they have. Studies show that a teenager who is working would be far more responsible towards his college education as compared to others. Getting a job makes a teenager more responsible and motivated.
Generally, recession and less money for expenditure act as an excellent reason for a teenager to get a job. As parents are not always capable to afford the extra spending money that a teenager desires. Hence, in such a situation a teenager should take up a job to handle his expenses.
Working teenagers can easily earn superior references for future academic and professional purposes. The teen will also have a better understanding about virtues like hard work and saving money. Hence, every teenager should get a job.
