Solar Panels At Your Home
Do you think setting up solar panels at your home is very tough? If you think, it is, you are wrong! It is not as difficult as you think, also it is also not that expensive. If you are interesting in setting up one at your home, you may find many of the things that you will need for it around the house.
The first thing you need to consider while heading for such a project is the proper angling panels on your roof. You need to set it up at such as position or facing a direction where the panels will benefit from the most amount of sun. The angling of the panels is the main thing that need your attention, because a bad angle to the sun is only wasting of your efforts. Avoid shady areas, because it will cut down on your electricity produced. Even if less than 1/10 of your solar panel is covered by shade, it will cut your system's efficiency by 50 percent.
Batteries are an another important element in the DIY solar power project. If your system doesn't have batteries, it means you will not have electricity unless the sun was beating down on the solar panels. However, you can solve this issue by connecting your homemade solar power system directly to a power grid, but this is not a good idea either. The batteries need to be replaced after few years of use and also you should use deep-cycle batteries. These batteries are not likely to result in major loss of energy capacity over the years.
In setting up solar panels, you will also need a charge controller, which will make sure that your batteries are not drained all the way or filled up too much. This way your batteries will last longer.
