Mid-Life Women
Mid-life is a term that is characterized in terms of chronological age but as far as all the theories are concerned, it is said that the term is also defined by the developmental tasks associated with it.

Okay now let me give you an example, if we have a look at a theory, in young adulthood (early 20's to 40), our developmental task is to get indulged in a healthy relationships (as a friend, spouse, partner or parent).

Mid-life women is geared up with some kind of responsibilities! As far as this time period is concerned, we also embark upon a career and work our way up the ladder. We tend to define a particular area of our influence - our family, peer group and colleagues. Ow according to one more theory it has been stated that in young adulthood, we are in a phase of striving, building, acquiring and conquering. Both the theories have something in common.

According to these kind of mid-life theories it has been said that in mid-life (40-60 or 65), our developmental task is to look for – and to the maximum level of our abilities, able to find out a deep satisfaction in the relationships and careers we have created in young adulthood.

In mid-life, we also have one more responsibility. We should deviate or rather enhance our focus beyond the boundaries of intimate and work relationships and should more on the aspects that are related to our communities, our nation and our world...to all humankind. We take on the role of the states person and we look for the ways in which we can be of service to others.

Now if we especially talk about the theories that are related to mid-life women, especially those born early in the Baby Boomer generation, then the fact is that most of them were raised without the benefit of open access to sports and athleticism. And we know that it is a fact.

So keeping a strong focus on this aspect, we learn that without a proper access to sports, they never got the opportunity to really learn how to appreciate the physical body for its strength and stamina apart from just concentrating on the aspect of physical beauty only. But don't think that if women are not physically attractive, they lack behind something. No! Other features like intelligence, inner beauty, cultural behavior and more... matters a lot!
