If you are one of those who is unfortunately involved in an accident then it is advised that you should know a few things to try make the process a little bit easier.
As far as my tips are concerned, these tips are actually something you must take care of before you ever even get into your car. It is not just about having accident. These tips should anyhow be followed in any situation.
Inside your glove compartment. Make sure that you keep the following things intact with you each and every time: a cell phone, pen, paper, flashlight and a disposable camera. Along with that keep a diary that is geared up with a list of all emergency contacts and medical allergies. It is a recommendation that to protect the list from any fluid, laminate the list.
As far as the matter of safety is concerned, the tip is that you should be well prepared for any kind of circumstance in advance itself. If the accident is not that huge, then both drivers should move their vehicles to the side of the road and out of the way of approaching traffic. But in case of a big accident and above all if someone is injured in a very bad manner and the cars cannot be moved, everyone should remain in their cars until help arrives. At the same time, if you have a reach towards your cell phone, call police and some close relative for help. He must be located near by other wise it will take long to have help from him.
If you are in a condition of doing son, then take out the camera from your kit and photograph the car and all surrounding areas. Take a witness if possible.
