Preparing for Changing Yourself
Most people do not like to introspect and bring changes in their self. They are usually too content with themselves or too preoccupied to even think about the need to change themselves. Not until and unless a person is miserable in his/her present condition, frustrated by his current limitations, will he/she consider changing as a possibility. There reasons for not changing range from denial, selfishness, laziness and self-pity. Yet change can yield very positive results and give your life a new direction. Here are some tips to set you on the path of changing yourself.
1). Realize that you have been caught in a trap of knowing the truth about change, but for a number of reasons are hoping that this negative habit will not get worse (this is a false assurance you are giving to yourself).
2). Realize that you can change but it will take a commitment that will pay off in the end.
3). Realize that change rarely happens without the help of friends, family and some kind of spiritual anchor. Reach out!
4) Keep in mind that change can occur within a short period of time. Most experts say that a new habit can form within 3 months.
Lastly, it will be painful to change, but change is necessary if we want to reach our full potential and realise our dreams.
