Are you noticing the early signs of pregnant in you but still not sure if you are pregnant actually? But, you may want to make sure your doubts so that you can start your planning ahead or to seek the help of professional pre-natal care at the earliest. In this case, a pregnancy blood test or a home pregnancy kit can help you determine if you are actually pregnant or not!

Pregnancy test kits are available at your nearest retail stores. Now, you might be thinking what is the best time to take a pregnancy test? Well, the HCG hormone secretion follows the fertilization of the eggs and placement of the embryo to the uterus. According to medical experts, this span of pregnancy when fertilization takes place is the best time to take the pregnancy test. The period after one week of missed period is the phase when the embryo gets attached to the uterus. This phase is also considered as the best possible stage to take the pregnancy test. It should also be remembered that building up of the HCG concentration differs from person to person.

The HCG hormone is produced by the placenta when the embryo get attached itself to the uterine wall. And if the hormone is detected in a pregnancy test, that means the result of the test is positive. But, there is no way to know the exact time when the embryo will attach itself. Therefore, if you will engage in performing pregnancy tests too early, there are possibilities to get a negative result when you really are pregnant!

Thus, the the phase as when to perform a pregnancy test is very important. If you perform it too early in your pregnancy, there may not be enough of the pregnancy hormone in the urine that will provide you a positive test result. A majority of home pregnancy tests will prove 90 percent accurate, if you test yourself one day after your missed period is due. When you find your pregnant result negative and still you feel you are pregnant, you can repeat the test again in a week if you still have not had your period. If you still find the result negative, it is better for you to see a doctor.

Pregnancy test is also performed in order to know the due date or delivery date. Normally, a pregnancy lasts for an average of 266 days from the date of conception. But, the doctors add 280 days to the date of first day of the last menstrual period to know about the due date or the delivery date. However, the actual delivery date can be two weeks before or after the due date, calculated by the doctor.
