Any parent will tell you that raising up kids is by no means an easy task, To make the job tougher parents are also held responsible for their children's moral and character develpoement. Moreover with falling moral standards and a culture that teaches "self first", it becomes necessary to give one's child a firm moral foundation.
For concerned parents character education provides long-term solutions to raising up kids to grow into responsible, caring adults, with integrity.
Character education modelling and teaching good character through emphasis on universal moral values that are common to all religions and societies, such as caring, honesty, fairness, responsibility, and respect for self and others.Good character is not formed by itself; rather it is developed over time through a continuous process of teaching, example, learning. This is what constitutes character education.
Teaching good character is particularly important today as our youngsters are exposed to many opportunities and dangers which their parents are unaware of. They are vulnerable to more negative influences through the media and other external sources prevalent in today's culture.
